what do zoo animals think of us?
I wonder if zoo animals think we are boring. Do they look at us a wonder why we just walk by and look at them for a bit. Do they think that is all that we do? Do they care? Or are we just their random bit of entertainment? Are we just something to look different for them to look at for a while?

ReplyDeleteSee I have actually experienced this a bit. I was painting a gate to a hospital's mortuary in Nepal. Not something anyone of a cast other than low would do. Nepalis found it very interesting. Most would stop and stare, some would try and communicate, some tried to feed me. And I found myself thinking that this must be what it is like to be a zoo animal. I also found out that the only thing more interesting than a white guy painting is a dead body.
